ANOREXIA

This is a disease in which is usually associated with the disorders of the eating habits. This can occur in children as well as adults and has no age limit of infection. The anorexia can be categorized into many different types depending upon the factors that influence their causes. Mainly anorexia is caused by the disorders in the upper tract of the digestive tube.


Symptoms:
The main symptom for anorexia is the feeling of no appetite in the patients. The patients usually will not feel hunger and will have a very poor appetite. There will be several causes for this disease and one among which is the affected region of the digestive tracts.

Mainly the class of anorexia includes the general anorexia in which there will be no appetite in the patient. There occur problems and medical drawbacks due to the changes in the nutritional conditions of the body. In turn this disease can bring about loss of weight in the patients. The victim will have continuous degradation of the muscular strength and will possess the nutrition depletion in the body.

The body mass index of the patient will drop below normal. There will a feeling of fatigue and weakness. This occurs due to imbalance in the nutritional levels of the body. There will be no regular increase in the shape and mass of the body. The victim will have to experience all the ill effects of the disease. There will be many side effects added with the disease.

 

Causes:
The common cause of anorexia is the infection due to bacterial agents. There can be many other causes such as the intake of excessive fatty oils that can suppress the intake of food and even cause indigestion. If there are problems in the digestive tract then the anorexia can be severe. There can be cases in which the digestive tracts of the patient be affected and will be enclosed by the formation of mucus membrane across the tracts through which the food will pass inside.

In many other forms of the anorexia there occur causes due to the weakness due to the improper intake of food.

Treatments:
The treatment for anorexia includes:-

  • To make the patient to regain the weight that is lost during the infection or during the disease.
  • To treat the psychological effects regarding the eating habits that can cause disturbance in the mind set up of the patients.
  • To stop or curb the thoughts which can make the patient to stop the eating habits and which in turn can bring about relapsing.

  • Vegetable soup with salt and pepper can increase appetite to treat anorexia.

  • According to ayurveda, ghee can be used to increase appetite.
  • Ayurvedic treatments like panchakarma can be practiced.
  • Sour grapes can be useful in the treatment of anorexia.
