What is Snoring?
The term snoring has been used to define the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, which occurs mostly when people are asleep. The snoring sound is caused due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. Causes of Snoring:
It has been proven that snoring is caused by a narrowing of the airway, which can be caused due to poor sleep posture or abnormalities of the soft tissues in the throat. If the narrow airway gets in between the path of smooth breathing then it creates the sound of snoring. Usually people who snore have throat and nasal tissue, which is more prone to vibration and in this reference even the tongue can also get in the way of smooth breathing. The most common causes of snoring include weakness of the throat which causes the throat to close during sleep. Then there is the problem of a poorly positioned jaw that is caused by tension in the muscles along with a fat gathering in and around the throat. Any kind of obstruction in the nasal passageway also leads to snoring.
